One voice singing the poem of married life

Praising sunshine and prizing foul weather

When sunsets inspire or tempt night to stay

Painting our souls shades of Eden, anew

Until dancing takes our last breath away

I pledge and profess this covenant to you

With divine consent, the world to witness

As written by God in the book of *us*

In the before time, you and me, starless

In union finding God in all things thus
